Construction Definitions

Here's a quick-reference of terms that are helpful to know when working with Tucson Electric Power.

Construction Drawing: Detailed blueprints showing electrical layout for the project.

Crews: TEP's crews typically consist of 2 to 3 Journeyman Linemen/Cablemen.

Designer: Handles the design of electrical facilities and technical questions.

Field Technician: Performs inspections prior to TEP installing facilities.

Line Work: The installation of TEP facilities such as poles, transformers, junction boxes and line extensions. Line work requires consultation with a TEP Field Technician or Designer.

Redline Drawing: TEP's preliminary layout of the proposed route of electric service that is provided to you for approval before construction.

Service Work: Any overhead or underground conductor work preformed from the service entrance of a home to a TEP pole or transformer.

Work Order Control: Handles service inspection calls and service scheduling.
