Contractor Participation Guidelines
Description
The TEP Efficient Home Cooling Program ("Program") promotes the installation of high-efficiency air conditioners and heat pumps in Tucson Electric Power Company service territory. The new systems must meet or exceed the minimum efficiency standard of 13 SEER. Incentives for the purchase of qualifying high-efficiency equipment are paid directly to the homeowner. The contractor is also eligible to receive a $25 incentive for each qualifying unit installed.
Contractor Eligibility
- Complete and have on file an approved Contractor Participation Agreement
- Be licensed and bonded and maintain appropriate license(s) and adhere to state requirements
- Complete Rebate Application and submit along with copy of paid invoice on behalf of customer for each qualified installation
Contractor Benefits
- $25 incentive for each qualifying unit installed
- Materials to aid in the promotional and marketing of the Program

- Program training, on-going training and updates, as appropriate
Manual J Scholarships
TEP will provide one scholarship per licensed contractor for the attendance at an approved Manual J Class (Software or Book version). TEP will reimburse the contractor for the purchase of one software license (up to $450) or one Manual J 8th Edition Book (up to $55).
